4-pin (used on many digital media devices)

A cable with a 6-pin connector works in the larger 4-pin port but does not supply power to the secondary device.

The TV now has at least two sets of video cables: one to watch live or recorded programming from the media center, and another to watch recorded programming from the VCR.

There are several IEEE 1394 connector options. Make sure you have a cable with the large 4-pin or 6-pin connector at one end for the media center and, at the other end, a connector that fits the digital VCR (see figure 43).
