Differential nonlineari ty in a DA C is a m easur e of devia tio n of co de
width from 1 LSB. For a DAC, code width is the diffe rence between the
analog values produced by consecutive digital codes. A specification of
±0.5 LSB differential nonlinearity ensure that the code width is always
greater than 0.5 LSB (guaranteeing monotonicity) and less than 1.5
LSB.
