SCANNER COPY FEATURE
The printer works with the HP ScanJet® 6300C and Astra® 1200S, 1220S, or 2400S scanner.
Setting Up the Scanner
Before you can print, you must set up the printer to work with the scanner. If you have an HP 6300 you will need to have the proper SCSI cable*.
1.Make sure the scanner is not plugged into the power and the printer is turned OFF.
2.Plug the SCSI cable from the scanner to the SCSI port on the Interface Panel of the printer (A).
note: The SCSI scanner cable can also be plugged into the Zip drive SCSI port if a Zip drive is already connected to the printer. Set the Zip drive terminator to OFF when attaching the scanner (B).

3.Attach the SCSI terminator provided with the scanner to the SCSI port of the scanner. Refer to the scanner’s documentation on how to attach the terminator.
4.If you have an Astra scanner, locate the SCSI ID switch on the back of the scanner.
If you have an HP scanner go to Step 6. The SCSI ID switch will set automatically.
5.With a small screw driver gently turn the SCSI ID switch to 4, the usual factory default is 5 (C).
6.Turn the scanner, Zip drive if present, and then printer ON.
Caution! Do not plug in the scanner while the printer is turned ON.
