Booting Using TFTPThe procedures detailed inthis section assume that your TFTP daemon
(tftpd)is started in /etc/inetd.conf(or other appropriate directory on
your system) with a configurationline similar to this:
tftp dgram udp wait root /usr/etc /in.tftpd in.tftpd
-s/tftpboot
If you leave off the -s /tftpboot,achroot will not be done,
and your system will be insecure.
Toset up directories and files, and use TFTP to boot the Remote Access
Concentrator,follow these steps:
1. Initialize the IP address parameters using either th e
auto-initialize or manual initi alize method.
The auto-initializationmethod is described in “Auto-initializing
the IP Address Parameters”onpage2-23.The manual
initialization methodis described in “Manually Initializing the
IP Address Parameters”onpage2-26.
2. Enter theimage command at the monitor prompt.
As prompted, enter the followinginformation:
• Appropriate boot image name
• Boot directory
• Dump filename
The default image file name is: oper.64.enet
The followingexample shows how the image command is used
to set up a RemoteAc cessConcentrator boot from the /tftpboot/
annex/direc tory.When you ent ert helo ad directory name, make
sure you end the pathnamew itha slash character.
