During power-upand booting, it is more difficult to diagnose problems
because theyc an originatein the Remote Access Concentrator, the
Ethernet, or the load serverhost. Howe ver, theLE Ds provide both a
progress reportand an error display to assist you in troubleshooting.
If an error occurs, save the status of these LEDs. Technical
support personnelcan use this information to diagnose
problems.
Power-up and Boot ProceduresThe Remote Access Concentrator has two modes of operation: Normal
Modeand MonitorMode. NormalMode isthestandard operationalmode.
Monitor Mode is a diagnostic mode thatpr ovidesaccess to the ROM
Monitor commands.
During its power-up and boot seq uence, the Remote Access
Concentratorruns a set of diagnostics.The system LEDs display the
diagnostics’status. Thepattern ofthe systemLEDs identifiesthe error
condition.
Table 4 -2 lists abnormal operating conditions reported by the LED
displays, points to possible causes, and recommends correctiveactions.
Port Usage LEDs ThePort Usage LEDs, labeled 25%,50%,75%,and
100%,indicate the approximate percentage of B
channelsthat are being utilized. Thereare two sets of
PortUsage LEDs, one s etfor each WAN Port. These
LEDs are normally green. I fa ll available B channels
arein use, they turn amber until at least one call
disconnects.
