Modify Attempts

This portion of the Dial In Modify default window (see figure 28) describes modifying the login attempts parameters for dial in users.

Failure Banner (diFailureBanner)

This defines a message of up to 254 characters in length that will be displayed to a user if authentication fails. This message only appears when the authentication technique is Text.

Success Banner (diSuccessBanner)

The string sent to the dial-in window after a text login is authenticated successfully. The string can contain any printable characters with the exception of the excape character (\). The following special sequences are recog- nized and will be replaced before being sent to the customer:

\r— carriage return

\n—replaced with a new line

\t—replaced by a tab

\M—replaced by the MTU (maximum transfer unit)

\I—replaced by the IP address assigned to the connection
