The parent unit was switched on for mains operation during charging. Switch off the parent unit during charging to prevent a longer-than-usual charging time.

The battery pack approaches the end of its life and soon has to be replaced.The life of the battery pack decreases if you leave the parent unit continuously connected to the mains by placing it in a plugged-in charger.
