• A confirmation screen appears.

9Press A.

10 Press HOME MENU to exit the menu.

• Take note of the newly set password and keep it handy.

Clearing the password

Use the following procedure to clear the password.

1Press HOME MENU.

2Select “Tuner Setup” ( / then ENTER).

3Select “Parental Control” ( / then ENTER).

4Select “Password” ( / then ENTER).

5Select “Clear Password” ( / then ENTER).

6Enter the current four-digit password, using buttons 0

to 9.

• A confirmation screen appears.

7Press A.

8Press HOME MENU to exit the menu.

Note

• The above procedure will reset the password to the factory

default (1234).

Activating the Parental Control

1Press HOME MENU.

2Select “Tuner Setup” ( / then ENTER).

3Select “Parental Control” ( / then ENTER).

4Select “Status” ( / then ENTER).

5Select “On” ( / then ENTER).

• The password entry screen appears. Enter your four-digit

password using buttons 0 to 9.

6Press HOME MENU to exit the menu.

Setting the voluntary movie rating system

(MPAA)

1Press HOME MENU.

2Select “Tuner Setup” ( / then ENTER).

3Select “Parental Control” ( / then ENTER).

4Select “MPAA Ratings” ( / then ENTER).

5Select the desired rating and change the setting ( /

then ENTER).

• The password entry screen appears. Enter your four-digit

password using buttons 0 to 9.

• Each time you press ENTER, the setting is switched.

• A lock icon appears beside the blocked rating.

• All the ratings have been unblocked before shipment.

6Press HOME MENU to exit the menu.

Note

• Blocking a rating causes more severe ratings to be

automatically blocked as well. Likewise, unblocking a rating

causes less severe ratings to be automatically unblocked.

Setting the TV ratings

1Press HOME MENU.

2Select “Tuner Setup” ( / then ENTER).

3Select “Parental Control” ( / then ENTER).

4Select “TV Ratings” ( / then ENTER).

5Select the desired rating and change the setting ( /

then ENTER).

• The password entry screen appears. Enter your four-digit

password using buttons 0 to 9.

• Each time you press ENTER, the setting is switched.

• A lock icon appears beside the blocked rating.

• All the ratings have been unblocked before shipment.

We suggest you write down your password so you don’t forget it.

If you forget the password

When the message “Enter your Password” is displayed in step 6

under “Clearing the password”, press the ENTER button on the

remote control unit and hold it down for three seconds or longer.

The password reverts to “1234”.
