5 – Software Installation Installed Layout
NOTE:
Parallel command starters can be used for installation on multiple nodes, but this subject is beyond the scope of this document.
Installed Layout
The default installed layout for the InfiniPath software is described in the following paragraphs.
The InfiniPath shared libraries are installed in:
/usr/lib for
MPI include files are in:
/usr/include
MPI programming examples and the source for several MPI benchmarks are in:
/usr/share/mpich/examples
InfiniPath utility programs, as well as MPI utilities and benchmarks, are installed in:
/usr/bin
Documentation is found in:
/usr/share/man
Configuration files are found in:
/etc/sysconfig
Init scripts are found in:
/etc/init.d
The InfiniPath kernel modules in this release are installed in:
/lib/modules/‘uname
Putting the modules in this directory avoids replacing kernel modules that may be provided by your Linux distribution; you may want to use these modules if the InfiniPath software is removed. Modules are renamed if they can cause conflicts. For example, the module ipath_core.ko was previously renamed to ib_ipath.ko, but conflicts can arise if ipath_core.ko is still present. If it is found
