Manual Focus
Under certain conditions, such as those listed, you may need to focus manually.
1.Set the mode select dial to MANUAL.
2.Slide the power zoom lever toward T to zoom in on your subject. To maintain proper focus throughout the zoom range, you must zoom in on the subject before adjusting the focus.
3.Press FOCUS 5 or FOCUS 6 to display a clear picture in the center of the viewfinder.
The indicators appear in the viewfinder. The 5 or 6 indicator will flash. When the focus cannot be
adjusted any farther, the indicator will flash. When the focus cannot be
adjusted any closer, the indicator will flash.
4.Release the FOCUS 5 or FOCUS 6 to lock in the manual focus.
5.Press FOCUS 5 and FOCUS 6 together (or place mode select dial in AUTO) to turn auto focus back on.
Conditions Requiring Manual Focus
•When recording a subject through a window.
•When recording a subject having a close foreground and a background that is far away.
•When recording two subjects at different distances that overlap in the same scene.
•When the subject is not in the center of the viewfinder.
•When recording in
