Using the Flex-Bay

Your computer includes the Flex-Bay, a peripheral bay that can hold one of the following devices:

CD-ROM drive: shippped with your computer.

DVD-ROM: shippped with your computer or also available as an option.

Optional secondary hard drive: available as an option for your computer.

Zip drive / Superdisk LS-120: available as an option for your computer.

There is only one IDE bus in your system, HDD is connected as a master type of IDE devices and CD-ROM drive is connected as a slave type of IDE devices. If you want to install another IDE device to Flex-Bay, you must set the switch of device to slave type.

See ”Using Options” on page 84 for detailed information and the location of the switch on each devices. Refer to the below table to set the switch on devices.

To remove a device from the Flex-Bay

1.Turn the computer’s power off.

2.Close the LCD panel, and turn the computer over so that the bottom of the unit faces up.

3.Pull up on the Flex-Bay latch and pull the device from the bay.(Figure 11)
