Maintaining Your Machine

To maintain high print quality, clean the following parts and units regular- ly.

❖Cleaning the machine

Wipe the machine with a soft, damp cloth. Then wipe it with a dry cloth to remove the water.

Important

❒Do not use chemical cleaner or or- ganic solvents, such as thinner or benzene. If they get into the ma- chine or melt plastic parts, a failure might occur.

❒Do not clean parts other than those specified in this manual. Such parts should be cleaned by your service representative.

A Lift the platen cover or document feeder.

B Clean A and B.

A Lift the platen cover.

B Clean the platen cover with a damp cloth and wipe it with a dry cloth.

Cleaning the paper feed roller (Paper feed tray)

A Wipe dust off the paper feed roll- er with a damp cloth, and then wipe it with a dry cloth.
