Basic Verification Troubleshooting
Verify Addressing
Ifworking in FC-to-SCSI target mode and using Indexed or SCC Addressing, try
swappingto Auto Addressing to see if this solves the problem.
Verif y Device s
SCSI targetdevices can be connected to a host SCSI bus to verify they are
functional.
VerifyHost Configuration
Insome cases, it may be that the host bus adapter or driver may not be working
properly.Check the configuration of these elements. It may be useful to check
the release notesfor the driver provided to see if there are any specific issues
or required configuration. It may also be useful to ensure that you are using a
current versionof the host bus adapter driver.
Verify HBADevice Driver Information
Checkthe HBA device driver Readme file for configuration specifics. An HBA
mayrequire a different configuration, depending on whether it is connected to a
loop or a switch.
RS-232 Port Problems
If youexperience trouble communicating with the RS-232 port, verify the host
terminalemulation configuration. The PSFR-CP41 requires the baud rate to be
set correctly,8 data bits, 1 stop bit, and no parity. Flow control should be
disabled, and may cause problems if set to ‘hardware’ or XON/XOFF.Some
hostsmay not support baud rates higher than 19200, so a lower baud rate may
be required. If problemspersist, you may want to check the cabling or try a
differenthost. If a valid Ethernet IP address is configured, RS-232 configuration
settingscan also be set via SNMP and telnet.
