Processing SCSIInformation Introducing the PSFR-CP41
Processing SCSI Information
The followingdescribes how the router processes SCSI information:
1. A FC host issues a command. The FC host encapsulatesthe command in
the FCP protocol and sendsthe packet to the PSFR-CP41.
2. The FC port in the PSFR-CP41 receives the packet, interprets the FC infor-
mation, and places thepacket in buffer memory.
3. The PSFR-CP41’sprocessor interprets the information and programs the
SCSI controller topr ocessthe transaction.
4. The SCSI controller sends the commandto the S CSIdevice (target).
Informationprocessing
5. Thetarget interprets the command and prepares to either read or write data.
6. Data flowsbetween the host and target through buffer memory.
7. Response informationflows from the SCSI target back to the FC host.
