Understanding the PSFR-CP41Configuration
Ofpr imary importance in configuring the PSFR-CP41 is determining the mode
of operationrequired. The unit can be configured to suppor t Fibre Channel
hosts communicatingwith SCSI targets, or SCSI hosts communicating with
Fibre Channel targets. The default configuration of the unit allows for Fibre
Channel hosts to connectto SCSI targets. Configuration is needed in some
cases tom odifythe method in which this occurs, as well as to support SCSI
hosts communicatingwith Fibre Channel targets. Other functions and features
can be configured aswell, and are discussed fur therin this chapter.
A typical configurationwould have a Fibre Channel host connecting via an
arbitrated loop to thePSFR- CP41, withSCSI target devices attached to the
PSFR-CP41.This configuration, using a tape library anddrives, is represented
in Fig. “Configurationwith tape librar y”.
