Troubleshooting Basic Verification
Verify Fibre Channel Connection
IfSCSI devices are recognized on the SCSI bus, but do not appearto the Fibre
Channelhost, it may be that the Fibre Channel link is not established. Most hubs
andswitches have link indicators, showing link status. When the PSFR-CP41is
connectedand powered on, this link indicator should show a good link. If it does
not, checkthe cabling or connections. As a means of verifying link integrity
whenconnected to a functional host, disconnecting then reconnecting the Fibre
Channelcable should cause momentary activity of this indicator as the link reini-
tializes. Also verify that the media type of the PSFR-CP41 and attached hub,
HBA, or switchare of corresponding types. When using optical media, verify
that the attached deviceis using non-OFC type optical devices.
VerifySCSI Devices in NT
Ifrunning FC-to-SCSI mapping mode, open the NT Control Panel, select ”SCSI
Adapters,”and double click on the FC HBA. The SCSI devices should be listed.
If no devicesare listed, verify the PSFR-CP41 configuration, FC HBA configu-
ration,and cabling.
If devicesare listed, verify FC HBA mapping mode or ALPA addresses on the
PSFR-CP41.
Verify Configuration
Anumber of configuration changes may result in an invalid configuration. If you
are in doubt about the configuration,r estorethe PSFR-CP41 to the factory
defaultconfiguration and proceed to configure the unit a step at a time, verifying
the functionalityof the configuration as changes are made.
