Management Information Base (MIB)

A MIB (Management Information Base) is an element used in network management with SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) and a management station running a management application, such as Hewlett Packard’s Open View. The management application uses GETs and SETs to get system information and set system environment variables.

The private MIB can be accessed via Ethernet and is both a diagnostic and a configuration tool for the PSFR-CP41.

The following sections outline what MIB information is available for each interface type on the Private MIB. For more information on accessing the Private MIB, contact a support representative.

MIB Fibre Channel Interface Information

Fibre Channel data reported includes frame and packet information, upper layer protocol (ULP) type (FCP or IP), and other Fibre Channel specific information. Draft MIBs for Fibre Channel N_Ports and F_Ports are in the public domain.

The private MIB includes:

Groups for Fibre Channel configuration

Fibre Channel port physical table

Fibre Channel port statistics

SCSI-to-Fibre Channel mapping

￿Fibre Channel-to-SCSI mapping

Operating Manual
