Normal Mode

Thisis the normal state of your computer when it is in use. The green power indicator

light is on in this mode. Tosave power, you can turn off a specific device such as the

LCD or the hard disk.

System Suspend Mode

Thecomputer saves the current state of the system in RAM and switchesoff power to

theCPU. The am berpower lightflashes in this mode.

To activate System Suspend mode

PressFn+Esc, or press the power button quickly. You can also use the PowerPanel

utilityto enterSystem Suspen d mode.

To return to normal mode

Pressany key.

System Hibernation Mode

The state of the syste m is saved on the h ard drive and powe r is turned off. The p ower

indicator light is off in this mode.

To activate System Hibernation mode

Press Fn+F12. You can also use the P owerPanel utility to en ter System Hibernati on

mode.

When you activate System

Hibernation mode, the screen

remains black for a while an d

power is then turned off. Do not

move the computer until the

power indicator turns off.
