My modem connection is slow

Many factorsinfluence modem c onnection speed, includingt elephoneline noise o r

compatibility with telephone equipment (such as fax m achines or other modems). If

yout hink your modem is not connecting properlyt o otherP C-basedm odems, fax

machines,or yourInternet ServiceProvider, check the following:

Haveyourphonecompanycheckthatyourphonelineisfreefromanylinenoise.

Ifyour problem is fax-related, check that there are no problems with the fax

machine you are calling and that it is compatible with fax modems .

Ifyou are having a problem connecting with your Internet Service Provider,check

that the ISP is not experiencing technical problems.

Ifyo u have a second phone line available, try connecting t he modem to that line.

My Modem Cannot Establish a Connection

The modem dialing mode may be incompa tible with your telephone line.

Check the dialingm ode:

2Opent he Control Panel,

3Click View all Control Panel options if all options are not displayed

4OpenModems,

5SelectCOM OnePlatinium Car d Discovery V.90,

6ChooseDialing Properties.
