3Take the new ribbon and tension it by turning the knob on the top of the ribbon cartridge clockwise.

4Now insert the ribbon cartridge into the holder gripping it by the lugs, and turning the knob slightly clockwise if necessary. Make sure that the ribbon goes between the print head and the platen guard (see illustration below).

5Now replace the top cover and turn on the printer. You are now ready to start reusing the printer.
