Setting up to overdub

To prepare for overdubbing, set the unit according to the following guidelines.

REC indicator settings

•• Turn OFF the REC indicators of already recorded tracks.

•• Press the REC key on the track that you want to overdub to put it into record standby (REC indicator blinking).

With these settings, if you put the unit into record mode, the already recorded track begins playing back as recording starts on the overdub track.

Track pan and level settings

Use the LEVEL and PAN knobs of already recorded tracks to adjust their level and stereo positions for monitoring during overdubbing.

6–Basic Recording

Input settings

Use the procedures described earlier in this chapter to assign input sources to tracks for recording.

Rehearsal

When finished making settings, press the playback (Á) key to start playback.

Just as though you were recording, you can monitor the sound of already recorded tracks playing back and the input source on the track for recording, allowing you to check the monitor balance and volume.
