Recording the master track

Set the OUT point before you start mastering.

1Press the REC MODE key to open the RECORDER MODE screen.

2Turn the DATA wheel to select MASTER REC.

3Press the F4 (EXEC) key to put the unit into master recording mode and return to the Home Screen. In this mode, the track mix signal (which will be recorded) is heard through headphones or a moni- toring system during playback and recording.

NOTE

When this unit is in master recording mode, some playback functions and other functions do not work. If you try to use these functions, the “In Master Mode” pop-up message appears.

4Press the playback (Á) key while pressing and holding the record () key to start master recording.

The record () key indicator lights. Regardless of the prior recorder position, recording starts from the 00:00:00:00 point (start of song).

Use the LEVEL and PAN knobs as necessary to control the mix. These adjustments do affect the sound of the recorded stereo master.

Recording automatically ends when the recorder position reaches the OUT point.

After it ends, do the following to listen to the master track that you created.

5Press the REC MODE key to open the RECORDER MODE screen.
