Operating Basics

Do not use shut down/log off and sleep/hibernation while writing or rewriting.

Make sure writing or rewriting is completed before going into sleep/hibernation. Writing is completed if you can open the DVD Super Multi (±R DL) drive tray.

Set the computer on a level surface and avoid places subject to vibration such as airplanes, trains, or cars. Do not use an unstable surface such as a stand.

Keep mobile phones and other wireless communication devices away from the computer.

Always copy data from the HDD to the optical disc. Do not use cut-and- paste. The original data will be lost if there is a write error.

Damage to any CD-R/-RW or DVD-R/-R DL/-RW/+R/+R DL/+RW/DVD- RAM disc that may be caused by writing or rewriting with this product.

Any change or loss of the recorded contents of CD-R/-RW or DVD-R/-R DL/-RW/+R/+R DL/+RW/DVD-RAM disc that may be caused by writing or rewriting with this product, or for any business profit loss or business interruption that may be caused by the change or loss of the recorded contents.

Damage that may be caused by using third party equipment or software.

Given the technological limitations of current optical disc writing drives, you may experience unexpected writing or rewriting errors due to disc quality or problems with hardware devices. Also, it is a good idea to make two or more copies of important data, in case of undesired change or loss of the recorded contents.

TOSHIBA Disc Creator

Note the following limitations when you use TOSHIBA Disc Creator:

DVD-Video cannot be created using TOSHIBA Disc Creator.

DVD-Audio cannot be created using TOSHIBA Disc Creator.

You cannot use TOSHIBA Disc Creator's 'Audio CD for Car or Home CD Player' function to record music to DVD-R, DVD-R DL, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+R DL or DVD+RW media.

Do not use the 'Disc Backup' function of TOSHIBA Disc Creator in order to copy DVD-Video or DVD-ROM material that has copyright protection.

DVD-RAM discs cannot be backed up using the 'Disc Backup' functionof TOSHIBA Disc Creator.

You cannot back up CD-ROM, CD-R or CD-RW media to DVD-R, DVD- R DL or DVD-RW media using the 'Disc Backup' function of TOSHIBA Disc Creator.
