Creating Additional Department Codes

1In TopAccess, click the Counters tab.

2Click the Copy/Print submenu.

3In the “Enter a department code to access department counters field,” enter the master department code.

4Click Enter.

5Click New.

The Add new department code window appears.

6Enter the new department code and the new department name.

Note: The system supports a maximum of 150 department codes.

7Click OK.

Displaying Print and Copy Totals

Regardless of whether the department code feature is enabled, you can click the Counters tab to display print and copy totals.

Department Code Functionality

There are three possible cases:

￿Department code feature is disabled

￿Department code feature is enabled, but enforcement is not

￿Both the department code feature and the enforcement option are enabled.

Department Code Feature is Disabled

In this case:

￿The controller ignores any department codes submitted with a print job and does not prompt you to enter the code. This goes for all jobs, including “raw” and non-Windows®operating system jobs.

￿In the printer drivers, the Department Code label and Edit field are disabled.

￿In TopAccess, the Enforce Department Codes option is grayed out.
