General Safety Instructions
• Followallwarningsandinstructionsmarkedonth edevice.
• Donotplacethedeviceonanyunstablesurface.Ifthedevicefalls,seriousda magemayresult.
• Donotusethedevicenearwater.
• Donotplacethedevicenear,orover,radiatorsorheatregisters.
• Neverspillliquidofanykindonthedevice.
• Thedevicecabinetisprovidedwithslotsandopeningstoallowforadequateventilation.Toensurereliableoperation,andtop rotectagainst
overheating, these openings must never be blocked or covered.
• Thedeviceshouldneverbeplacedonasoftsurface(bed,sofa,rug,etc.)asthiswil lblockitsventilationopenings.Likewise,thedeviceshould
not be placed in a built in enclosure unless adequate ventilation has been p rovided.
• Unplugthedevicefromthewalloutletbeforecleaning.Donotuseliquidoraerosolcleaners.Useadampclothforcleaning.
• Thedeviceshouldbeoperatedfromthetypeofpowersourceindicate donthemarkinglabel.Ifyouarenotsureofthetypeofpoweravailable,
consult your dealer or local power company.
• Topreventdamagetoyourinstallationitisimportantthatalldevicesareprop erlygrounded.
• Donotallowanythingtorestonthepowercordorcables.Routethepowercordandcablessothattheycannotbestepp edonortrippedover.
• Ifanextensioncordisusedwiththisdevicemakesurethatthetot aloftheampereratingsofallproductsusedonthiscorddoesnotexceedthe
extension cord ampere rating. Make sure that the total of all p roducts plugged into the wall outlet does not exceed 15 amperes.
• ItisrecommendedthatyouplugyourdeviceintoaTrippLiteSurgeSuppressor,UPSorLineConditionertohelpprotectyoursystemfrom
sudden, transient increases and decreases in electr ical power.
• Whenconnectingordisconnectingpowertohot-pluggablepowersupplies,observethefollowingguidelines:
• Installthepowersupplybeforeconnectingthepowercabletothepowersupply.
• Unplugthepowercablebeforeremovingthepowersupply.
• Ifthesystemhasmultiplesourcesofpower,disconnectpowerfromthesystembyunpluggingallpowercablesfromthepowersupplies.
• Neverpushobjectsofanykindintoorthroughanyopeningsontheunit.Theymaytouchda ngerousvoltagepointsorshortoutpartsresulting
in a risk of fire or electrical shock.
• Donotattempttoservicethedeviceyourself.Referallservicingtoquali edservicepersonnel.
• Ifthefollowingconditionsoccur,unplugthedevicefromthewalloutletandbringittoquali edservicepersonnelforrepair:
• Thepowercordorplughasbecomedamagedorfrayed.
• Liquidhasbeenspilledintothedevice.
• Thedevicehasbeenexposedtorainorwater.
• Thedevicehasbeendropped,orthecabinethasbeend amaged.
• Thedeviceexhibitsadistinctchangeinperformance,indicat inganeedforservice.
• Thedevicedoesnotoperatenormallywhentheoperatingin structionsarefollowed.
• Onlyadjustthosecontrolsthatarecoveredintheoperatinginst ructions.Improperadjustmentofothercontrolsmayresultindamagethatwill
require extensive work by a qualified technician to repair.
• Useofthisequipmentinlifesupportapplicationswherefailureofthisequ ipmentcanreasonablybeexpectedtocausethefailureofthelife
support equipment or to significantly affect its safety or effectiveness is not recommende d. Do not use this equipment in the presence of a
flammable anesthetic mixture with ai r, oxygen or nitrous oxide.
Rack Mounting Safety Instructions
•Beforeworkingontherack,makesuret hatthestabilizer saresecuredtothera ck,extendedtotheoor,andthatthefu llweightoftherack
restsontheoor.Installfrontandsidestabilizersonasinglerackorf rontstabilizersforjoinedmultipleracksbeforeworkingontherack.
•Alwaysloadtherackfromthebottomup,andloadthehe aviestitemintherackrst.
•Alwaysloadtheracksothatahazardouscond itionisnotcreatedduetounevenloading.
•Makesurethatthera ckislevelandstablebeforeextendingadevicefromtherack.
