Subnet mask:

Enter the Subnet mask for IP address.

 

 

Default gateway:

Enter the IP address of the default gateway to which

 

the modem LAN interface is connected.

 

 

7.2.3.5 Telnet Setup

Use the following procedure to initiate a Telnet session once the initialization procedures described earlier in this section are complete. Verify that a physical connection exists between the 10Base-T modem port on the modem and a network device by pinging the LAN address of the modem. Open a Telnet session using the IP address of the modem that you set in the “LAN IP Address” field in the “Modem Management” screen.

The user interface for a Telnet or serial connection is the same. The first screen is the Login Display screen. Press <Enter> to proceed to the Main Menu.

7.2.3.6 Modem Configuration

This section describes configuration options for the modem including:

Master/Slave

Modem Name

Routing/Bridging Mode

IP Addressing for both interfaces

Static routing table entries

The values you will enter are dependent upon your pre-planned network configuration.

Access to the Modem Configuration screen by pressing “C” from the Main Menu.
