MIDI connection

When wishing to control the programs of a MIDI-compatible external distortion effect or preamplifier or similar, connect the MIDI jack of the device to the MIDI OUT jack of the 8080, using

a MIDI cable( p.34).

Set the EXTERNAL DIST RETURN GAIN switch to the position which matches the output level of the connected equipment. For use with a compact NOeffect device, the "-20 dB" position will normally be best, whereas professional effect devices and guitar preamplifiers will work better with

the "+4 dB" setting.
