Chapter 10 Wireless Security Screen

10.2.6 Security: WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK, WPA2-PSK-MIX

Use this screen to set the selected profile to WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSK or WPA2-PSK- MIX security mode. Select WPA-PSK, WPA2-PSKor WPA2-PSK-MIXin the Security Mode field to display the following screen.

Profile Name

Type a name to identify this security profile.

 

 

Security Mode

Choose WPA-PSK,WPA2-PSK or WPA2-PSK-MIX in this field.

 

 

Pre-Shared Key

The encryption mechanisms used for WPA and WPA-PSKare the

 

same. The only difference between the two is that WPA-PSKuses

 

a simple common password, instead of user-specific credentials.

 

Type a pre-shared key from 8 to 63 case-sensitive ASCII

 

characters (including spaces and symbols).

 

 

ReAuthentication

Specify how often wireless stations have to resend usernames and

Timer

passwords in order to stay connected.

 

The default value is 0, which means the reauthentication off.

 

Note: If wireless station authentication is done using a

 

RADIUS server, the reauthentication timer on the

 

RADIUS server has priority.

 

 

Idle Timeout

The NWA automatically disconnects a wireless station from the

 

wired network after a period of inactivity. The wireless station

 

needs to enter the username and password again before access to

 

the wired network is allowed.

 

The default time interval is 3600 seconds (or 1 hour).
