Follow these guidelines to avoid personal injury or printer damage:

•Use at least two people to lift the printer.

•Before moving the printer:

–Turn it off using the power switch.

–Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

–Disconnect all cords and cables from the printer.

–Remove all printer options.

Warning: Damage to the printer caused by improper moving is not covered by the printer warranty.

Locking the scanner

1From the control panel, press .

2Press or repeatedly until Machine Settings appears, and then press .

3Press or repeatedly until Scanner Carriage appears, and then press .

4Press or repeatedly until Move to Lock appears, and then press .

5Press or repeatedly until Execute appears, and then press . The scanner moves to the home position.

6Press to return to the Ready state.

7Open the scanner cover.
