7.5 Auto Driver Downloading

Insert the CD-ROM that comes with this manual into the CD-ROM drive and open it through Windows Explorer or My Computer.

Create a folder inside the "drivers" folder. Name the folder with a maximum of eight characters. You can create up to a maximum of two levels of folders. Here, we will create a folder called win98.

Copy the appropriate printer driver (e.g. 9x-eng-pcl) in the CD-ROM to the "win98" folder. Close the "drivers" folder.

Switch off the power of the printer, and wait for five seconds before switching it on again.

Open Network Neighborhood from the Windows client computer, followed by Workgroup (factory setting: Workgroup) and then the printer (e.g. Fx-0a62fd). You will notice that there is a printer icon of the printer driver (9x-eng-pcl) that you copied, added into the printer icon folder.

You are now ready for auto driver downloading.
