Ending Calls When Using a Headset

To end calls when using a headset with an NBX Business Telephone, press Release button on your telephone.

To end calls when using a headset with an NBX Basic Telephone, press Feature button and 111.

Certain brands of headsets have a power-saving mode that prevents the telephone from ringing for one or more calls when both of these circumstances are true:

1The headset amplifier buttons for Mute and On are both set to On, and

2The handset is off the phone for a long time (for instance, overnight).

Because it may take a few minutes for your headset to return from the power-saving mode to the active mode, when calls first come in, your telephone may not ring until the headset has returned to active mode.

If you do not plan to use the headset for a long time, 3Com recommends that you set the mute and headset buttons on the amplifier to Off and hang up the handset on your telephone. When you are ready to receive calls again, set up the headset for receiving calls:

1Pick up the handset on your telephone.

2Put on the headset.

3Press the mute and headset buttons on the amplifier to On.
