View status of the specified volume

 

When AMASS asks if you want to toggle the

 

status, type y for yes and n for no.

 

 

-a

Activate the volume in the Database

 

 

-i

Inactivate the volume in the Database, eject it

 

from the drive, and return the volume to its

 

home storage slot.

 

AMASS returns an I/O failure for any read

 

requests associated with this volume.

 

 

-u

Usage statement

 

 

-y

Suppress interactive messages

Enter the unique volume number

 

 

Activate New Volume

Step 1. Log in as either amass or root.

Step 2. To create an entry in the File System Database and receive from AMASS a unique volume number, use the volnew command.

Step 3. To load specified the volume number in a library, use the volinlet command.

Note

This command is not valid for libraries without a mailbox.
