Managing the AMASS File System

no options | View status of the specified volume |
| When AMASS asks if you want to toggle the |
| status, type y for yes and n for no. |

Activate the volume in the Database | |

Inactivate the volume in the Database, eject it | |
| from the drive, and return the volume to its |

| AMASS returns an I/O failure for any read |
| requests associated with this volume. |

Activate New Volume
Step 1. Log in as either amass or root.
Step 2. To create an entry in the File System Database and receive from AMASS a unique volume number, use the volnew command.
Step 3. To load specified the volume number in a library, use the volinlet command.
Note
This command is not valid for libraries without a mailbox.
