The location of the system log file varies depending on

 

the platform. For the default path, refer to Errors and

Example

Step 1. Log in as root.

#su root

Step 2. Following the path and script name, enter the path to your system log. For default system log locations, refer to Errors and Corrective Action.

#cd /usr/amass/tools

#./amass_log /var/adm/messages

Because the log will probably have several days’ worth of messages. Make sure the messages being looked at are for the current date and time. For example, on a Sun, it is

/var/adm/messages.1.

Step 3. Perform the action the message recommends.

Step 4. If the problem cannot be corrected see “Prepare to

Contact Technical Support” on page -32.
