Probing SCSI devices

Symptom – The SCSI tape, CD-ROM, or external disk drives are reporting errors.

Solution – To check the status of the SCSI devices:

1.Enter:

/usr/sbin/shutdown -y -i0 -g0

This shuts down the system.

2.At the ok prompt, enter the following commands: setenv auto-boot? false

reset-all

The system resets.

3.Enter: probe-scsi-all

The program displays a message that is similar to the following:

/pci@1f,0/pci@1/pci@1/SUNW,isptwo@4
