controlled by this equipment. Improperuse can cause serious or fatal injury.

Precautions

Donot touc h any circuit board, power device or electric al connection before you first

ensuret hat no high voltage is present at this equipment or other equipment to which it is

connected. Electricalshock can cause serious or fatal injur y.Only qualifiedpersonnel

shouldattempt t os tart-up, program or troubleshoot this equipment.

Besur e that you are completely familiar with the safe operation and programming of this

equipment. This equipmentmaybe connec ted to other machines that have rotating parts

orparts thatarecontr olled by this equipment. Improperuse can cause serious or fatal

injury.

Thestop input tothisequipment s hould not be used as the single means of achieving a

safety critical stop. Drivedisable, motor disconnect, motor br ake and other means should

beused as appropriate.

Improperoperation or programmingmayc ause violent motion of the motor shaft and

drivenequipment . Becertainthat unexpectedmotor shaft movement will not cause injury

topers onnel or damage to equipment.

Besur e all wiring complies with the National Electrical Code and all regional and local

codes. Improperwiring may result in unsafe conditions.

TheDSM has componentswhich are sensitive to Electrostatic D ischarge (ESD). All

handlingshould be done at an ES D protected workstation.

Toprevent equipment damage, be cer tain that input and output signals are powered and

referencedcorrectly.

Toensure reliable performance of this equipment be certain t hat all signals to/from the DSM

areshielded c orrectly.

Avoidlocating the DSM immediat ely above or beside heat generating equipment, or directly

belowwater steampipes.

Avoidlocating the DSM in the vicinity of cor rosive substances or vapors, metal partic les and

dust.
