3.1 Introduction
Youshould read all the sections in Basic Installation.
Itis important thatthe corr ect steps are followed when installing the DSM.
Thiss ection describes the mechanical installation of the DSM.

3.1.1 Location req uirements

Ensure you have read and understood the warnings and cautions in sec tion 1.
Thesafe oper ation of this equipment depends upon its use in the appropriate environment.
Thefollowing points mustbe c onsidered:
HTheDSM is designedto be mount ed indoors, permanently fixed and located.
HTheDSM mus t be secured by the holes in the faceplate.
Because the DSM consists of two core components , a drive and a motor, attention must be
paidto the thermal s pecifications of both the motor and the electronics. The following
maximumtemper atures apply to the DSM:
HTheDSM heat s ink temperature must not exceed 85 °C (185 °F).
HTheDSM motor t emperature must not exceed 100 °C (212 °F).
