1. Do you support iPad?
Supportedat the end of rst quarter of 2013 and it will be backwards compatible with the rst release.
2. Do you support other tablets(Android, W indows, ...)?
No,not in the rst release of ClickShare. SupportforWindows tablets is on our roadmap (howeve r,no timing is available yet).
Supportfor Android tablets is not on our roadmap. Ifyou identify a demand to support Android tablets, please inform Product
Management so we can reassess.
3. Does ClickShare have a client software for Mac?
Yes,the client is available on the Button.
4. Does ClickShare have a client software for Linux?
No. If you identify a demand for client software for Linux, please inform Product Management so we can reassess the need to
support Linux.
5. Do you have a master/CEO ClickShare Button?
We havet he “showm e fullscreen” function: whenyou hold the ClickShare Button for longer than 1.5 seconds, all content is
removed from thedisplay and replaced with your content, full screen.
6. What video outputs do yousu pport?
Thebase unit has two video outputs: DisplayPort and single link DVI-I. The box includes a DVI to VGA converter. Cables (VGA,
DVI,DisplayPort) are not included in the box. Conversionto HDMI is possible with cables that are availableoff-the-shelf. Itis
notpossible to include the audio s ignal in the DisplayPort or DVI-I signal.
7. Can you triggerdisplay wake-up/stand-by?
Aftera predened period (to be congured by the integrator) of inactivity, i.e. no ClickShare Button is connected to the Base
Unit, thebas e unitm utes theoutput signal towards the display or projector. Dependingon the conguration of the display or
projector,this can trigger a standby mode in the display or projector. As soon as a ClickShare Button is connecting to the Base
Unit,the Base Unit restores the signal to the display or projector, showing a welcome message or introduction screen.
Anotherway to restore the signal to the display or projector is a short press on the standby button of the Base Unit.
8. Do you support audio?
Isavailable at the end of the third quarter of 2013. A udiois available from a separate audio output from the Base Unit. It is not
possibleto include the audio signal in the DisplayPort or DVI-I signal.
9. Howdoes it work when a fth person wants to connect when there are four sources on the s creen?
Whena fth person pushes the ClickShare button, a message will appear on the laptop/Mac Book of this user informing him or
herthat the central screen is full. However, the “Show me full screen” feature still works. When the fth person holds the button
formore than 1.5s, the other sources are removed and the 5th source is shown full screen.
10. DoesClickShare support dual screen presentation mode?
Yes.
11. DoI need admin rights on my laptop to use ClickShare?
No, youdo not need admin rights on your laptop to use ClickShare.
12. DoI always need to start the application at the start of every meeting?
Ifyou choose the “zero installation” scenario, you indeed have to start the application every time you start using a ClickShare
button. For the rest of the meeting, you can simply click the Button to share your content or to remove it from the central screen.
Ifyou want to av oidstarting up the application each meeting, yo u can choose to installa service on your laptop. Youcan nd
thisstarter service installer on the ClickShare drive as well. Onc e installed,this service runs in the background. Upondetecting
a ClickShare Button being plugged in, itstarts the ClickShare application automatically. Youwill need administrator rights on
thelaptoptoinstallthisservice.
13. Doesthe ClickShare Button work with USB 3.0 ports?
TheC lickShareB uttonis a USB 2.0 device. Itwill work on a USB 3.0 port as well.
14. Howdoes ClickShare maintain color depth for images?
ClickSharetransfers and displays the image data using a 24 bit color depth in an RGB color space.
15. Whatpreventsthe shared content from being seen or accessed if the application on the Base Unit is hacked over the network?
Is it possible?
There are two levels of securityon ClickShare. Firstof all, the network between the Base Unit and the ClickShare Buttons
is protected withW PA2–PSKauthentication. Inthe unlikely case that this would be hacked, we arrive at the second level of
encryption: the content itself that is sent over the network is also encrypted. Next to that, it is also interesting to note that we
arenot sending the le itself over the network, but only snapshots of the laptop’s screen.
