Cause 2:

Connections to the LAN have not been attached correctly.

Solutions:

If the AirStation Pro is connected to a LAN cable, you must ensure that:

„The cable connection to both the computer and the hub is secure.

If the hub is switched on, the Ethernet LED indicator should be flashing.

„The LAN cable you are using is of the correct type. You must use straight- through Ethernet cable.

Cause 3:

Network mode is incorrect.

Solutions:

To correct this:

„Ensure that the ESS-ID’s on your network adapter and the AirStation Pro match. To check the ESS-ID, refer to the following section.

Checking the ESS-ID for Windows 95/98/ME

To check the ESS-ID on your network adapter:

1Open Network Neighbourhood properties and select the Configuration tab.

2Select the appropriate adapter and click Properties.

3The ESS-ID is displayed on the Basic Settings tab.

Checking the ESS-ID for Windows NT

To check the ESS-ID on your network adapter:

1Right-click the Network Neighbourhood tab on the desktop, select Proper- ties.

The Network dialog box is displayed.

2Select the Adapters tab.

Highlight the MELCO WL1-PCM-L11 Wireless LAN Adapter, click Properties.
