An Error Message Appears
Printing does not start due to an error writing to LPT1
Cause | Solution |
Printer is not on | Check the POWER/ERROR light |
| The POWER/ERROR light should be green. If the light is |
| flashing, the printer is warming up. |
Parallel cable not | Check the parallel cable |
connected correctly | Make sure the parallel cable is securely fastened to the |
| computer and the printer. See the Quick Start Guide for |
| details. |
Parallel cable fault | Try to use another parallel cable |
| Make sure you are using an IEEE 1284 |
| parallel interface cable. |
Another device is | Check the LPT1 port |
connected to LPT1 | Make sure the printer is connected to LPT1. |
Switching device or | Check the switching device or external buffer |
external buffer fault | Disconnect the switching device or external buffer and |
