FILM CABLE

Clean the exterior of the printer with a soft cloth moistened with water. Clean away smudges and dust.

NDo not use paper products (such as paper towels or tissues) to clean the inside of the printer.

Printing a Test Print

If your print quality is not what you expect, or if you want to check whether a BJ cartridge or BJ tank is out of ink, you can print a test print. You can start a test print as follows.

Make sure the printer is off and plain paper is loaded in the sheet feeder. Press and hold the POWER button until the printer beeps once. This test print shows the version number of your printer’s ROM and a nozzle pattern that indicates whether the nozzles on your BJ cartridges are firing. If the pattern is not crisp and clean, try cleaning the print heads (see page 4-6).
