Cause value: (only applicable in the context of Recommendations Q.763 and Q.931)

The cause value is divided into two fields, a class (bits 5 through 7) and a value within the class (bits 1 through 4).

The class indicates the general nature of the event. The valid values are as follows:

000Normal event

001Normal event

010Resource unavailable

011Service or option not available

100Service or option not implemented

101Invalid message (for example, parameter out of range)

110Protocol error (for example, unknown message)

111Interworking

The valid class values are listed in Table 1-53.
