Using the printer driver 3-11

Open the Status Monitor

•Double-click on the Select Status Monitor icon (see Figure 3-6).The Status Monitor appears.

Viewing Status Monitor information

The Status Monitor displays the following status information:

•The top line displays the current state of the Status Monitor or printer.

•If the printer is directly connected to this PC, the second line displays any messages. If the printer is shared through a network, this line indicates where to find information about messages.

•The third line displays the current port mode, which can be ECP, USB, Shared Mode, or Directly Networked.

Suspending the Status Monitor

Suspending the Status Monitor closes the dialog box and stops communication between the printer and driver.

To suspend the Status Monitor, double-click on the Status Monitor icon and select Suspend. Suspend the Status Monitor before power off to avoid interrupted communication.

EYou cannot suspend the Status Monitor while printing a card.
