CDMA communication (Optional)

The CDMA module in your computer is CDMA2000 compliant. The procedure of configuring and making a connection is the same used for GPRS communication. Please refer to the GPRS section.

DIAL-UP LINK THROUGH THE BUILT-IN MODEM

Configuring your connection

In Networks window, select Create a new connection to create a dial-up connection. If completed, a dial-up entry will show in Networks window.

Making a dial-up link

Please follow the steps below to make a dial-up link (If a dial-up connection, named Dial-up, is created.):

1.Connect the modem to a phone line (from the MODEM port to a telephone jack).

2.Click on [Dial-up] in Networks window to invoke Dial-up Link dialogue box.

3.Input dial-up phone number, user name and password of your account.

4.Click on [Dial] to start the connection.

If connected, click on [Dial-up] once again in Networks window. A connection status window appears this time. In the status window, you can:

Check connection status.

Stop the connection.

PC CARD CONNECTION

Windows integrates the function “plug-and-play” for the PC card connection. If a card is inserted in the PC card slot and Windows cannot find the driver, Windows will guide you to the installation of the driver. For some device cards, specific application programs are required. See the manufacturer’s instructions.
