&Mn Select Sync, Async or AutoSync Mode Options

Selects the communication mode.

*&M0: Async mode.

&M1: Sync mode 1. Async off-line and Sync on-line. To switch to on-line command mode, select &D1 and drop DTR.

&M2: Sync mode 2. Autodial stored #0 when DTR changes from off to on, ignore &D option, always &D2 when DTR changes from off to on.

&M3: Sync mode 3. Manual dial mode with talk/data switch, same as &M2 when in on-line mode.

&M4: Hayes AutoSync mode. Result Codes:

OK Returned when n = 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4.

ERROR Returned for any other value of n.

&Pn Dial Pulse Ratio

Determines the make/break ratio used during pulse dialing.

*&P0: Make = 39%; Break = 61%; for use in the United States.

&P1:

Make = 33%; Break = 67%; for use in some other countries.

Result Codes:

OK

Returned when n = 0 or 1.

ERROR

Returned for any other value of n.

&Qn Communications Mode Option

Selects the communication mode. This is the Hayes command, and performs identically to &Mn, above. Result Codes:

OK Returned when n = 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4.

ERROR Returned for any other value of n.

&Rn CTS/RTS Option (non-CTS Flow Control Mode)

Defines the functions of CTS.

*&R0: CTS follows RTS (Synchronous modes only).

&R1:

CTS always true.

Result Codes:

OK

Returned when n = 0 or 1.

ERROR

Returned for any other value of n.
