Restrictions on Daisy Chain Cable Lengths

The maximum length of a daisy chain is dependent upon the synchronous data rate. Table 8 lists the maximum cumulative daisy chain cable lengths for various baud rates. For example, to run a synchronous line at 10 megabaud, the total length of all daisy chain cables for that synchronous line may not exceed 30 feet. Thus, a single T1 Modem Bank could be placed 30 feet from the EPC/X host adapter, or six T1 Modem Bank units could be spaced at 5 foot intervals and still operate at 10 megabaud.
