What is USB?

USB stands for Universal Serial Bus. It is a new interface used to connect various peripheral devices to a computer.

USB allows more than one peripheral device to be connected via a single USB cable, and also allows data to be transmitted more rapidly than conventional serial ports. Peripherals can also be connected or disconnected with the power turned on, and the computer will automatically recognize the peripheral that has been plugged in. (Some peripherals may require settings or other operations to be performed.)
