Getting Connected and Installing Drivers (Macintosh)

10

Select UA-20 USB from the Settings folder you copied in step 3, and click [Open].

11

Verify that MIDI transmission and reception occur correctly.

From the MIDI menu, choose Check Connections.

12

The mouse cursor will change to the shape of a keyboard. Click the sound generator icons encircled in the diagram at right.

If you hear sound, MIDI messages are being sent from

the Macintosh to the sound module.

13

Once again choose the MIDI menu command Check Connections to end the test.

14

From the File menu, choose Quit to exit FreeMIDI

Setup.

This completes connections for the UA-20 and Macintosh, and installation of the MIDI driver.

Next you will install the ASIO driver.

(Installing the ASIO driver (p. 51))

If the UA-20 does not produce sound, refer to No sound (p. 70).
