Safety Notes
To guarantee proper airflow through the system the air filters have to be replaced at least every six months. Emerson recommends to replace the air filters every 90 days. Filter replacement frequency depends on the environment the system is subjected to.
Because central offices vary in physical location and cleanliness, check your air filters every week after you first install your system. In a dusty environment, filter replacement may be required more often than in a cleaner environment. Check the filters frequently until you have a good idea of how often they must be replaced. Based on your findings, establish a regular replacement schedule and keep a log to record the date of each filter replacement.
Product Damage
High humidity and condensation on surfaces cause short circuits.
Do not operate the product outside the specified environmental limits. Make sure the product is completely dry and there is no moisture on any surface before applying power.
Overheating and Damage of the Product
Operating the product without forced air cooling can lead to overheating and thus damage of the product.
When operating the product, make sure that forced air cooling is available in the shelf.
Product Malfunction
Failure to observe proper grounding practices may cause a variety of noise, electrostatic discharge, and radio frequency interference (RFI) problems.
When operating the blade in areas of electromagnetic radiation make sure that the blade is bolted on the system and the system is shielded by enclosure.
Personal Injury
High leakage current can be hazardous and cause injury.
Locate the caution label near the grounding studs (may vary from system to system) and make an earth ground connection before connecting power to the PEM.
Product Malfunction
Bad operating voltage conditions may interrupt product operation during PEM replacement. Make the operating voltage conditions of the product optimal by keeping the input voltage at nominal
