Megahertz (MHz)

A unit used to measure oscillation frequency (of a computer’s internal timing clock). A megahertz is one million cycles per second. The Equity 386/33 PLUS operates at 33 MHz or simulates 11 MHz.

Memory

The area where your computer stores data. Memory contents are stored permanently (in ROM) or temporarily (in RAM).

Memory module

A small circuit board that contains memory chips. You can add 4MB memory modules to the main system board inside the computer to expand the computer’s memory. A memory module is commonly called a SIMM (single inline memory module).

Memory on card

The additional memory on an option card installed in the computer.

MGA

Multi-mode Graphics Adapter. A type of display adapter card that can display monochrome text and color graphics on the screen.

Microprocessor

A small version of a CPU contained on one semiconductor chip.
