VGA

Video Graphics Array. A type of high-resolution display adapter. The VGA adapter built into the system board of your computer supports 16-color graphics at resolutions up to

1024 x 768 and 256-color graphics at resolutions up to 640 x 480 on a compatible VGA monitor.

Video card

A display adapter card that can be installed in one of the computer’s option slots to provide a monitor interface. Your computer comes with a built-in VGA adapter, so you do not need to install a video card if you are going to use this interface.

Write

To store data on a disk.

Write-protect

To protect the data on a diskette from being changed by placing a write-protect tab over the notch on a 5¼-inch diskette or by setting the write-protect switch on a 3Sinch diskette. When a diskette is write-protected, you cannot erase, change, or record over its contents.
